Alcoholism is considered a disease and alcohol a disease agent.
Physiological symptoms of alcoholism
1) People who are mild alcoholic there is a fatigue, nausea, vomiting, headache and temporary visual blurring.
2) In moderate cases above symptoms are of great intensity and there is loss of vision, respiratory failure and also permanent blindness occurs.
3) In acute intoxication there is severe depression, degeneration of liver, cirrhosis of liver, kidney, heart and pulmonary congestion and general edema.
4) Alcohol produces psychic dependence and physical dependence develops slowly.
Control on alcoholism
1) Treatment cannot take place unless the person attends the treatment.
2) Alcoholism has become a social status for the youngsters the social circle and parents should check this menance.
3) Government should ban opening the bars near the crowded places and near schools and worship places.
4) Strict legal action is needed to control sale of alcohols and beverages.
5) Imposing heavy duty on the production and sale of alcohol/beverages.
6) Alcohol addict also needs the help and co-operation off psychologists and sociologist.
